They are made of aluminum plate and come to you raw, right out of the machine.  You can paint, powder coat, or polish them but you don't NEED to do anything because they are covered by your license plate, and because it's aluminum, it will never rust!

Taillight / License Plate Mount for 85-07 Yamaha Vmax 1200 replaces your huge stock taillight with a slick, low pfofile plate and light mount.
Slotted holes allow you to choose how low the plate hangs to allow for frames of different sizes or none at all.
Also available without cat eye taillight.  This listing INCLUDES the light.  See other items to buy it without the light.
Installation is easy and instructions are provided.  This is about a 30 minute project.  Some light DRILLING is required, only on the stock license plate bracket spot welds, but it can be easily bolted back on, which means installation IS reversible.
